What is a good AEO score?
90–100 is an A, 75–89 a B, 60–74 a C, 50–59 a D, and below 50 an F. Across the 5,000+ sites CheckAEO has analyzed, the average score is 63, which is a C. Anything above 75 puts you well ahead of most of the web.
Does CheckAEO work for non-English websites?
Yes. Scoring is language-aware for ten languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Checks that don't depend on language (schema, technical, metadata) apply everywhere. The AI Comprehension Test reads your page in its own language, quoting evidence from your original text. Other languages still score fairly: language-specific checks switch to neutral partial credit rather than penalizing.

We probed 504 company domains blind, with no page content and just the domain, and asked Claude what it knows. It recognized 95% of established brands but only 29% of the everyday business sites real users check with our tool; the other 71% do not exist in its training knowledge. Finance had the lowest recognition (50%): Claude knows the big names but drew blanks on half the community banks and credit unions.
